What exactly does a Senior Care Advisor do?
A Senior Care Advisor helps families navigate the overwhelming process of finding the right senior living community whether that’s independent living, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing. We get to know your loved one’s medical needs, lifestyle preferences, and financial situation, then provide personalized recommendations, schedule and attend tours, and support you through the decision-making and move-in process.
Do you charge for your services?
Our services are completely free to families. We are paid a referral fee by the senior living community once your loved one moves in like how a real estate agent is compensated. This allows us to offer expert, personalized guidance without adding any cost to you.
How do I know you're recommending the best community and not just the one that pays you the most?
We are proud to operate with total transparency and integrity. We only work with reputable communities that meet our high standards for care, safety, and service. Our goal is to find the right fit for your loved one because our business thrives on word-of-mouth referrals, not volume. Our reputation depends on doing what’s best for your family, every time.
What if I already started looking at communities on my own? Can you still help?
Absolutely. Even if you’ve started the process, we can often save you time and help clarify what to look for and ask during tours. We’ll step in where you are and bring insight that goes far beyond what you’ll find online such as staffing trends, leadership stability, and community culture.
What types of senior living communities do you work with?
We work with a wide network of licensed senior living communities, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing facilities. Many of our clients are looking for upscale or luxury communities that offer elegant accommodations, gourmet dining, wellness programs, and a vibrant social calendar.
How quickly can you help us find a place?
We move as quickly as your situation requires. For urgent needs—such as a hospital discharge or safety crisis at home—we can often coordinate tours and placement within 24–72 hours. For families planning ahead, we’ll work at your pace and help you feel confident in every step of the journey.
Do you help with more than just finding a community?
Yes! We offer concierge-style support, which may include coordinating moving services, connecting you with elder law attorneys, estate planners, or home organizers, and providing emotional support as your family navigates this big life transition. Think of us as your advocate and guide from start to finish.
What’s the difference between Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care?
Each level of care provides different support:
- Independent Living: For active seniors seeking a maintenance-free lifestyle with amenities and community.
- Assisted Living: Includes personal care like help with bathing, dressing, and medications.
- Memory Care: Specialized support in a secure setting for those with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.
We’ll help determine which level best fits your loved one’s current and future needs.
How do you determine which communities to recommend?
We start with a detailed consultation to understand your loved one’s care needs, personality, lifestyle, and financial considerations. Then, we match you with a short list of communities that we’ve personally vetted. We consider everything from reputation and staffing to the “feel” of the place because the right community is about more than just price and location.
What if we don’t like any of the options you show us?
Then we go back to the drawing board with no pressure, no judgment. We’re here to support your family’s decision, not make it for you. Sometimes it takes a few visits to figure out what feels right, and we’re with you every step of the way until you find the perfect fit.
Can you help if my loved one has complex medical needs or dementia?
Yes. Many of our clients come to us when their loved ones’ care needs have progressed beyond what they can manage at home. We specialize in navigating memory care options and higher acuity assisted living. We’ll ensure your loved one is placed somewhere equipped to handle their specific medical and cognitive needs safely and with dignity.
How do you know the communities you recommend are high quality?
We don’t just read brochures we visit communities regularly, meet with leadership teams, monitor care outcomes, and track feedback from families we’ve placed. We keep a pulse on staff turnover, licensing inspections, and culture shifts. It’s our job to know which communities consistently deliver exceptional care and which ones don’t.
What if I don’t live in the same city as my aging parent—can you still help?
Definitely. We work with many adult children who live out of town and need trusted, local eyes and ears on the ground. We can tour communities on your behalf, send photos and feedback, and coordinate everything remotely. You’ll never feel out of the loop, even from a distance.
My parents are hesitant to move. Can you help with that conversation?
Absolutely. We know that leaving home can be emotional and overwhelming. We’ll help you approach the conversation with empathy and strategy, focusing on safety, quality of life, and preserving independence. Sometimes, hearing from a neutral third party can ease tension and help your loved one feel more empowered in the process.
